If you have manually set up your learners in Boost Insights, then you can use the manual promotion tool to move them up to the correct year groups at the start of a new academic year.
You can also create promotion chains for classes/registration groups that are moving up together. We recommend creating a 'Leavers' class for your oldest year group. You'll need to manually edit classes/registration groups that do not promote as one.

To promote learners using the manual promotion tool:
- Log in to Boost Insights as the Access Coordinator.
- Click Admin Hub icon in the bottom left.
- Go to School > Promotion > Overview.
- Click Next in the bottom right of the 'Overview' panel.
- Click Next again on the 'Review year groups' panel.
- Tick the year groups you'd like to manage.
- Click Save and continue in the bottom right.
- Click Next on the 'Review classes' panel.
- Use the dropdown boxes to create promotion chains between classes/registration groups, including your 'Leavers' class (if you created one). This step is optional.
- Click Save and continue.
- Click Next on the 'Promote pupils' panel, then Promote all pupils in the bottom right.
If you've made a mistake, you can click Undo last promotion on the 'Final steps' or 'Overview' panels at any time to reverse the promotion.
