Hachette Learning Academy courses comprise a mix of static content and adaptive revision modules. Adaptive revision modules include revision content and questions that automatically adjust to your needs based on how quickly and accurately you answer the questions, and how confidently you rate your own knowledge as you progress.
Adaptive revision modules are denoted by a scholar cap icon in the 'Course plan' panel of the task window. Click the adaptive module card in the content panel to open the module.
Rating your understanding
When you've read a section of revision content, you'll be asked to rate how confident you are in your knowledge and understanding of it. The options are 'Got it', 'Think I got it', and 'I don't get it'.
You'll also be asked to rate how confident you feel about your answers to questions. This, combined with how quickly and accurately you answer, will adjust the future content you see. If you are not confident in your answer or answer incorrectly, then you will see the question again in the future.
You can manually adjust the difficulty of the content at any time by adjusting the slider in 'Self-assessment' panel in the bottom left:
- 'Novice' means you don’t feel confident. You'll be shown the revision content before the questions.
- 'Expert' means you feel very confident. You'll be given questions to start instead of seeing revision content. If you answer the questions quickly and correctly, you'll move through the module more quickly.
The content will continue to adapt to your performance over time even if you manually adjust the self-assessment slider.
The 'History' and 'Navigation' tabs
Click the arrow in the top right corner to access the 'History' and 'Navigation' tabs:
- The 'History' tab shows the Learning objectives you've attempted so far and what percentage of the content you've read and answered questions correctly about.
- The 'Navigation' tab shows all the Learning objectives in the module. If you are viewing a revision slide, the corresponding Learning objective will be highlighted in blue. Click a Learning objective at any time to view its content.
Completing an adaptive revision module
Once you've answered enough questions correctly and confidently, you will complete the module.
A summary screen shows how long it took to you to complete, the time spent on each item, how many items you already knew and felt confident about, and how many items you learned.
Click the Learning objectives under the 'Table of Contents' to revisit any content you'd like to look at again.
Click Close in the bottom right to exit the adaptive revision module.
