When you open a task or module, a window will open that is divided into four different panels: the 'Teacher' panel, 'Content' panel, 'History/Navigation' panel, and 'Self-assessment' panel.

Content panel
The central 'Content' panel is where you will interact with the resources (slideshows, questions, videos, etc.) in the chosen task or module.
Your overall progress through the task/module is displayed as a percentage figure and progress bar at the top of the page.
The ? in the top right corner will clarify what you need to do in the current screen.
Self-assessment prompts will appear throughout the task/module so that you can reflect on your understanding of the material.
At the bottom of the page, you can click Give Feedback to help us improve the content and experience in Hachette Learning Adaptive.

Teacher panel
The 'Teacher' panel on the left contains the lesson text and instructions for the material displayed in the 'Content' panel.
You can read the information in this panel or listen to it by clicking the Play button; adjust the playback speed by clicking the three dots.
Self-assessment panel
The 'Self-assessment' panel in the bottom left lets you rate your understanding of the topic using a slider with the following levels:
- Novice: little to no prior knowledge; requires detailed explanations and foundational concepts.
- Advanced beginner: some familiarity with the topic, but still needs guidance and structured learning.
- Competent: a solid grasp of the material with the ability to apply knowledge in familiar contexts.
- Proficient: strong understanding with the ability to analyse and solve problems independently.
- Expert: deep mastery of the subject, capable of advanced problem-solving and critical thinking.
Your self-assessment helps personalize your learning experience:
- Lower ratings (Novice/Advanced beginner) prioritize explanations and focus on core material.
- Mid-level ratings (Competent) introduce a balanced mix of guidance and challenges.
- Higher ratings (Proficient/Expert) reduce explanations, introduce more challenges, and incorporate advanced material.
By accurately assessing your knowledge, you ensure an adaptive and effective learning experience tailored to your needs.

History/Navigation panel
History tab
The 'History' tab displays a list of learning objectives and your understanding of them, represented by a pie chart next to each one. This is to help you track your progress and identify topics that may need further review.
You can click on any objective to revisit the topic, allowing you to review past material, reinforce learning, and improve your mastery of specific concepts.
Navigation tab
The 'Navigation' tab provides an overview of all the content within a module. Click on a topic to open it in the 'Content' panel.
This feature helps you navigate the material efficiently, focus on specific topics, and revisit content as needed.
