Managing custom groups in Boost Insights

When you add learners to Boost Insights, either manually or via MIS sync, they must be set up in their registration classes/form groups in the purple 'Classes' tab. They can only belong to one 'Class' at a time. 

However, you can use custom groups to group them in other ways--by subject class or reading group, for example. There is no limit to the number of custom groups a learner can belong to.

To create a custom group: 

  1. Log in to Boost Insights.
  2. Click Admin Hub in the bottom left.
  3. Go to the orange Groups tab.
  4. Click New group in the bottom right. 
  5. Name the group and add a description (optional). 
  6. Tick learners on the left to add them to the group on the right. 
  7. Click Save group.

Greyed out learners are in Pupils > Without access and won't appear in Boost Insights until they're granted access.

To edit a group, select it and click View/edit. Click Delete group to delete the group instead.
