At the start of a new academic year, you may need to promote your learners to their new classes/registration groups. How you do this depends on whether learners move to the same class or different ones.
Please note that Admin Hub changes can take up to 5 minutes to take effect in Hachette Learning Adaptive.
Promoting learners when they move to different classes
If your learners are moving to different classes (for example, half the learners from class 1A are moving to 2B and the other half to 3C), then you will need to edit the classes manually or edit your learners with a CSV.
Promoting learners when they move to the same classes
If all of the learners in your classes move up together (for example, everyone in class 1A is moving to class 2B) then there are two ways of promoting them.
If the new class names do not exist in the Admin Hub already, then you can simply change the current class name to the new one:
- Log in to Hachette Learning Adaptive as the Access Coordinator.
- Click Admin Hub in the bottom left.
- Go to the purple Classes tab.
- Select the desired class and click View/Edit in the bottom right.
- Edit the class name and click Save class.
If the new class names do exist in the Admin Hub already, then you can repopulate them by working backwards through each year group.
The first step is to separate your leavers from your normal classes:
- Log in to Hachette Learning Adaptive as the Access Coordinator.
- Click Admin Hub in the bottom left.
- Go to the purple Classes tab.
- If you do not have one already, create a new class called 'Leavers'. Otherwise, select your existing 'Leavers' class and click View/Edit.
- Change the 'Add from:' option above the left-hand list from 'All pupils' to the oldest year group's class name, then click Add all of the above pupils underneath the list. Repeat this step for each class in the oldest year group.
- Click Save class.
The second step is to move students from last year's classes to this year's classes:
- Select your oldest year group's class and click View/Edit.
- Change the 'Add from:' option above the left-hand list from 'All pupils' to last year's class name, then click Add all of the above pupils underneath the list.
- Click Save class.
Repeat these steps for each of your classes, working backwards through each year group.
