Introduction
Shine Interventions: Access Mathematics Tests and Access Reading Tests include Progress quizzes for you to administer post-intervention to check your learners' progress and retention.
Shine Interventions: AMT also includes Strand tests. These are used pre-intervention to determine which specific Learning Sequences a learner needs intervention in based on their AMT test results (each strand contains several Learning Sequences).
This article will show you how to assign the tests and quizzes.
For completed Progress quizzes and Strand tests, you can generate two reports: a Progress quiz report and a Progress quiz: comparison view report. For further guidance, click here.
Assigning Shine Interventions: AMT and ART quizzes and tests
Before you can administer the Progress quizzes and Strand tests, your learners will need to complete AMT and/or ART interactive tests. You will also need an active Shine Interventions subscription for one or both products. However, the Progress quizzes and Strand tests do not require additional interactive test credits to assign.
You can assign the Progress quizzes and Strand tests from the assignment page or from within the Shine Interventions: AMT and ART reports.
To assign from within a report, select any of the Progress quiz or Strand test links within the Learning Sequence (in the left-hand menu) and click the orange arrow, then skip to step 3 in the instructions below.
To assign from the assignment page:
- Log in to Boost Insights and click Assign: tests, surveys & interventions.
- Select Shine Interventions: AMT or Shine Interventions: ART at the bottom of the page.
- Click the purple + Assign button above the calendar to open the assignment panel. You can set the test date at the top.
- Click + Add quiz to select a quiz or test, then + Add learner(s). You can assign to multiple learners, whole groups, or whole classes at once, but you cannot mix and match. Click Add Learner(s) once you've made your selection.
- Use the settings icon to hide the test timer for learners; remove learners from the assignment by clicking the icon in the right-hand column. You can apply these settings individually or in bulk.
- Click Create to create the assignment and add it to the test calendar.
Select the assignment on the test calendar to find the test code and URL. Your learners will use these to log in to the test/quiz. You can review or edit a Progress quiz or Strand test assignment in the same way you review and edit a test assignment.
